$uavviano Celebrates Success with "Bday Boogie" and Reflects on His Journey After Winning The Liq Podcast Open Mic

Inglewood-born $uavviano is the latest artist making waves on the West Coast, fresh off his win at The Liq Podcast Open Mic with his hit track “Bday Boogie.” With a smooth blend of fun vibes and a unique sound influenced by his Baldwin Hills/Leimert Park upbringing, $uavviano is quickly carving out his space in the industry. In this exclusive interview, he shares his journey, creative process, and what’s next for him as an artist.

Hometown Roots: Shaping $uavviano's Sound

Growing up in the Baldwin Hills/Leimert Park area of Los Angeles, $uavviano’s environment played a huge role in crafting his unique style. “I was born in Inglewood, California, at Centinela Hospital and grew up in Baldwin Hills/Leimert Park, which helped me create my authentic sound,” he explains. Listening to West Coast legends like Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, and global icons like Drake gave his music both substance and melody. “Their music influenced my songs to have substance while still being catchy and melodic.”

The Creative Process Behind "Bday Boogie"

$uavviano’s latest single “Bday Boogie” was born out of a desire to showcase his fun side while celebrating something universal: birthdays. “When creating 'Bday Boogie,' I really just wanted to show my fun side and also celebrate something that goes on year-round,” he says. The track, with its upbeat tempo and catchy hook, perfectly captures the essence of good times and celebration.

When asked about his creative process, $uavviano reveals a more personal approach. “I always start in my Voice Memos on my phone by just humming a melody, and then I usually come up with a hook. The words fall in place after that,” he shares.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the “Bday Boogie” music video, and $uavviano assures them it’ll be worth the wait. “Look out for the drop of the video, it was amazing. Everybody genuinely enjoying themselves, it felt like a turnup. We all forgot we were at a music video shoot,” he recalls.

Winning The Liq Podcast Open Mic: A Game-Changer

$uavviano’s win at The Liq Podcast Open Mic was a major turning point in his career. “The Liq Podcast literally changed my music career overnight,” he says. “I instantly got 7,000 views on my page just from winning, and I got the chance to open up for Trey Songz, Lil Vada, Joe Moses, RJ, and Elijah Banx.” For any up-and-coming artist, this kind of exposure is invaluable, and it’s clear $uavviano is taking full advantage of it.

Overcoming Challenges and Staying Focused

Like many artists, $uavviano has faced his share of challenges, with procrastination being a major hurdle. “One of the most significant challenges I’ve faced so far has been procrastination. I kept telling myself I’ll do this and that but never did. Now, I just go, and whatever happens, happens. I’m liking where it’s taking me right now in my career.”

Moving forward, $uavviano has big plans. “I can see myself as one of the top writers/producers in the industry while still maintaining my artistry. My goal now is to keep elevating little by little and go all out.”

A Personal Side to $uavviano

Although his music is serious business, $uavviano reveals that he's quite the jokester in real life. “Something people might not know about me is that I’m a jokester. Besides business, I hardly take things seriously, and you can usually find me pranking my friends,” he shares with a laugh.

His advice to aspiring artists? “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Always stay ready for any situation so you don’t have to get ready when the opportunity comes. Give it everything so you have no regrets.”
