Jamal Rajad & Y3 - Finally Got It (Official Video)
Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamal Rajad.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a is a South Los Angeles native with a unique love story to the music industry. I began performing live shows at the age of 17 years old. I eventually caught the eye of Bone Thugs N Harmony producer DJ U-Neek which resulted in a collaboration on a mixtape titled Bankrollin. I managed to created my own lane by hosting multiple underground parties throughout Los Angeles where I performed bi-weekly. I worked my way up to sharing the stage with artists like E-40, Too Short, Crooked, Dj Carisma, K Camp, Ty Dolla Sign, Jeremih, and more. In 2019 I was in a near-fatal car accident that changed my outlook on life. Given a second chance I put all my focus on perusing my passions. Since that life-changing event I created the music label U Ain’t Us Ent and opened a recording studio on Hollywood, CA. The music I create is upbeat and reflects lyrics of my past, present, and manifested lifestyle. Platinum producer DJ Bobcat (LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Tupac) said “Jamal Rajad has some really good material that reminds me of Kendrick Lamar meets B.O.B. He has the heat for the streets.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say the rod was too bumpy, many peaks and valleys but I have overall been blessed. There have been many learning lessons on this journey. The music business is not for the faint at heart. The transition from preforming as a hobby to owning my own label has changed my perception on all things music-related. Some of the personal challenges I have dealt with is the genuine desire to bring everyone with me. It has always been my goal to see everyone win but now that I that I am in the position I’m in, I’m forced to be more strategic on the moves I make. Understanding that we now have something to lose makes me consider business moves more carefreely.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a very active kid growing up. I boxed, played soccer, football and basketball. As outgoing as I was, I always got nervous at big events and when I was in front of people. Although my father passed away at a young age his lessons of being my brother’s keeper and protecting my family still hold strong today. Growing up in South Central was not the easiest, I played concrete football until I was 18 years old. Lots of life lessons on toughness and being a man during these times.
