Congrats Cardi B: Cardi B's hit song 'Bodak Yellow' reaches No. 1 on Billboards Hot 100 Charts
Belcalis Almanzar a.k.a Cardi B has alot to celebrate right now. Cardi B's 'Bodak Yellow' is now the biggest song in the country. Cardi's Bodak Yellow made No. 1 on Billboards Hot 100 charts for the chart dated October 7th.
This makes Cardi B the second female rapper to make it to first place on the charts by herself since lauryn hill in November of 1998 with her song "Doo Wop (That Thing)." Before Cardi B there were only 5 other female emcees who had the NO. 1 spot, those females being Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim for "Lady Marmalade" in 2001, Shawnna for "Stand Up" in 2003, and last Iggy Azalea for her song "Fancy" in 2014.
Cardi B has gained alot of respect from alot of other artists too, like the legendary Ms. Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, and North Carolina rapper J. Cole just to name a few. Cardi B definitely has been making money moves since her many successes with her now #1 hit single. Cardi B is still working on the release of her debut album and is pushing the release date back a little further she told sources she was in competition with herself.
Cardi's record label Atlantic Records held a event dedicated to cardi's success on grabbing the NO. 1 spot on the charts. With Bodak Yellow doing amazing numbers it's likely that we will be seeing her debut album soon, but don't worry Cardi Girl. Don't rush the album we're more than sure all your fans will be appreciative of it when you're ready and it's on your time.
